Pictures of the Classroom

Here are some pictures of my classroom. I have been loving school. It has been a lot of fun so far. I am looking forward to what the year will be. Enjoy the pictures.

First Day of School

Today was my first day of school and I have pictures to prove it. It ended up being a great day. I have 11 students in my class, and only 10 showed up today. Throughout the day we learned about each other and about the classroom as well. We worked with patterns, read a story, told the creation story, created the rules of the classroom, went over jobs of the classroom, had 2 breaks, and a lunch. The students were really good. The boys are really funny and the girls are more shy. The day went a lot better then I had expected.

One boy asked me if I would help him tuck in his shirt. I told him no, and said that he should figure out how to do it himself. He proceded to drop his trousers, and try to tuck in his shirt. He did pretty well until he had to zip his pants back up, another boy in the class helped him. It was really funny to watch the whole thing play out. Tomorrow I actually have real plans for the students, so we will see how the day goes.

Virtual Tour of the Classroom

Here is my classroom. I thought that I would let you see my classroom through the eyes of me. There is commentary as well. It is a little long, but completely worth it. Enjoy my Grade One classroom. Mom, will you please make sure that Grandma sees this since I give her a shout-out or rather her buttons.

Motorcycle

Yesterday I drove a motorcycle all by myself. I was testing one out to see if I want to buy one. I changed into 3rd gear, and back down to first again. I even made a u-ie. It was awesome. I loved the wind in my hair, and through my face. I went around the block twice and did not even crash. I drove on the wrong side of the road once, but they use the other side of the road to drive on, so that is a fine mistake by me. That is all of the excitement that I could handle in one day but it was so fun. Today I am off to my classroom to finish getting it ready.
